Wednesday, 1.16 (Blue Day)

Social Studies

Students worked on the same assignment as the students in yesterday's Social Studies classes - they analyzed data (per Capita GDP, Literacy Rate, etc.) to see if they could find similarities in the countries that we buy many of our clothes from. These guys and gals worked really hard today, and almost finished the written portion of the assignment. I told the kids that they would have 15 minutes of the start of class on Friday to finish their assignments - then, we would move on to our next lesson on Globalization.

Literature

Students did two things today - they filled out their learning log (a record keeping sheet that helps them keep track of their progress as learners), then we spent the rest of the class reading Zach's Lie. Both classes will finish Zach's Lie in class tomorrow, and will have FVR (Free Voluntary Reading) for the next few days in class.
