I wasn't at school today ... the kids worked with a substitute.
Social Studies
Today was an "Armistice Day" - I gave students the chance to get caught up on all of their missing assignments. From reading the sub notes, most of the kids did a great job and turned in a lot of missing work. For those who didn't get their work finished, they'll need to do it as homework or come to the next Saturday school.
Literature
Today was another work day in Literature - students worked on their second attempt at our classroom standards for our Zach's Lie unit. They had to use my feedback from previous assignments to show improvement in the author's use of word choice, similes, and conflict. Their second attempt at these assignments are due on Friday, and their third an final chance to show mastery will happen in their next Letter Essay (due 2.24).
